Epic Universe
Universal's fourth Orlando park, opened in 2025: five themed worlds ringed around a cosmic garden, with the biggest swing of new rides the city has seen in a generation.
Updated June 2026
Epic Universe is the new heavyweight in town. It opened in May 2025 as Universal's fourth Orlando park and the first brand-new major theme park the area had seen in about twenty-five years, and you can feel the ambition the moment you walk through the portal. The whole place is built around a central garden called Celestial Park, with four more themed worlds branching off it like spokes on a wheel, each one hidden behind its own gateway until you step through.
It's a full day at minimum, and honestly more if you can spare it. This page is the lay of the land, world by world, so you know what's where before you go. If you're weighing it against the rest of the resort, our Universal Orlando guide sets out how all the parks fit together, and the wider Theme Parks hub covers the Disney side too.
A park built like a wheel
One garden hub in the middle, four portals leading out to the headliners. Here's each world and the ride we'd point you to first.
A perfect day
One long, well-paced day, built to beat the worst of the lines.
- Arrive before the gates open and walk straight to Super Nintendo World for Mario Kart and Mine-Cart Madness while the waits are still short.
- Cross to the Ministry of Magic and give yourself time to soak in that queue before riding Battle at the Ministry.
- Break for lunch back in Celestial Park, where the sit-down spots cluster, then ride the Constellation Carousel to let it settle.
- Spend the afternoon between the Isle of Berk dragons and the monsters of Dark Universe, catching a show if the timing lines up.
- Stay for the evening, when the lighting transforms every world, and save Stardust Racers for one last ride after dark.

Common questions
When did Epic Universe open?
Universal Epic Universe opened on May 22, 2025. It's Universal Orlando's fourth theme park and the first brand-new major theme park to open in the Orlando area in roughly twenty-five years.
What are the five worlds at Epic Universe?
The five worlds are Celestial Park (the central garden hub), Super Nintendo World, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic, Dark Universe, and How to Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk. You enter each themed world through its own portal off the central hub.
What are the headline rides at Epic Universe?
Standouts include Stardust Racers (a dueling coaster in Celestial Park), Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge and Mine-Cart Madness in Super Nintendo World, Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, Monsters Unchained in Dark Universe, and Hiccup's Wing Gliders on the Isle of Berk. Lineups can change, so check the Universal app for what's open the day you go.
Do I need a separate ticket for Epic Universe?
Yes. Epic Universe requires its own admission. You can buy a single-day Epic ticket or a multi-day park-to-park ticket that includes it. Universal has used dated, reserve-ahead admission given the demand, so it's best to buy for a specific date rather than show up without a plan. Check the official Universal Orlando site for current pricing and rules.
How does Epic Universe fit with the rest of Universal Orlando?
Epic Universe is a short drive south of Universal's original cluster, which includes Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, the Volcano Bay water park and the CityWalk dining and entertainment district. Many visitors pair Epic with one or two of the other parks over a multi-day trip; our Universal Orlando guide breaks down how to split your days.
Is Epic Universe good for young kids?
There's plenty for families, especially the dragons of the Isle of Berk and the interactive fun of Super Nintendo World, plus the no-height-requirement Constellation Carousel in Celestial Park. That said, Dark Universe leans dark and atmospheric and some of the bigger coasters carry height requirements, so plan around your kids' ages and tolerance for thrills.
